I have always believed in lazy summers, with no tight schedules. And the first time I put my kids in their own beds for the night, I cried. I too felt that another special time in my life was gone and my babies were getting bigger. That was before they also came back into my bed that same night and continued to from then on ;-) Some nights, I don't even bother putting them in their own beds. Maybe it's not teaching them how to be independent. But I'm pretty certain they'll grow out of it on their own. And in the meantime, I feel like I'm allowing my kids to be kids, for just a little while longer. By the way, My boys are now seven and my daughter is five :-)

Thanks for the comment, Laurie. My son does come in if he wakes up in the middle of the night, and I'm ok with that. They seem to grow up faster every month!
